Monika & Thomas’s Hawaiian Themed Wedding
Hawaii was a special place for our couple Monika and Thomas. It is where they fell even more in love and so they wanted to bring this vibe to their wedding day. We at Barcelona Brides always get excited with wedding themes because it allows us to travel and experiment with new wedding decór ideas. We loved created with the help of Pepe Von Strudel and the couple were blown away by the end result.
One of the most important aspects of this wedding was the venue – it had to be directly by the beach so La Cupula Restaurant in Garraf was the best option. It features a spacious interior hall and a beautiful terrace overlooking the Mediterranean which helped us achieve the complete effect.
With a theme wedding it is all in the details so we wanted to incorporate as many Hawaiian themed elements as possible. Starting with the florals, leis (the traditional flower garlands), pai pais (fans), we even secured a vintage guitar and Elvis “Hawaiian Wedding Song” album. The visuals were complemented by a relaxed background courtesy of Polynesian musicians from @imuapolinesia and their renditions of traditional Hawaiian wedding songs such as “Ke Kali Nei Aua”.
Did you know that the flower leis are more than decoration and pretty wedding favors? They are a symbol of love and respect and in traditional Hawaiian ceremonies the couple exchange the lei as an important mark of love and commitment. At this wedding every guest got to wear one.
It was a magical tropical evening and we are proud and happy to have travelled without even going far from our beloved Barcelona all thanks to Monika & Thomas and their Hawaiian Themed wedding.
