We loved interviewing our beautiful Irish bride Charlene to find out all about her perfect Masia Egara wedding day in Barcelona…

Describe your Masia Egara wedding day in 3 words!
Magical, Perfect, Fun filled

What was your favourite memory from your Masia Egara wedding?
There were so many favourite moments, its difficult to choose 1!  Walking up the steps of the red garden to the aisle was magical as I got to see all our friends and family gathered to celebrate our big day, then seeing my dashing husband to be at the top.
Another was having lots of fun with the Photographer and Videographers, they made us feel super relaxed and we had a lot of fun during the day.

Why did you chose Barcelona as you wedding destination?
We both speak Spanish so always thought about a destination wedding.  Barcelona was a no brainer because it’s easy to get to from anywhere in the UK and Ireland.  It has something for everyone; beaches, history, shopping, architecture, food , the list goes on …

What did you love most about your wedding dress? How and where did you find it?
I actually saw my wedding dress in a Barcelona Brides blog last year, I saw it and thought I WANT IT !  I am not traditional so knew I wanted something which was quirky yet beautiful and bridal.  When we travelled to Barcelona to scope out the venues I went to visit theThe Muse Collective store who work directly with the dress designer Rime Arodaky.  I tried on the dress and that was it, I fell in love !   What I loved most was that it was unusual, and had my name written all over it.  We customised it to my taste and as you can see from the pictures it was stunning.

If you did it all again what might you change?
Make the day last longer, it was gone in a flash and I would love to relive every moment.

Tell us about the blooms. What was your favourite thing about your wedding flowers?
The blooms focused on pampas.  I told the florist the flowers I like, gave them some pictures and ideas and they came up with the style, I was really impressed.  Again not ‘traditional’ blooms but they worked well with the style of the overall wedding.  The arch was something I wanted to incorporate as I knew these would work well for photographs.

What is your advice for other couples getting married in Barcelona?
Do it ! Destination Wedding is the way forward.  Why do vanilla at home when you can create a truly special and unique experience abroad.

What cultural aspects did you include in your big day?
We focused more on giving our guests a glimpse into what we love; Our favourite drink ‘ margarita’ was incorporated by Monchos.  Some of our favourite food was again provided by Monchos.  The music we choose showcased our eclectic tastes.. from Reggaeton to Pop to Rock and everything in-between.
