K&J Scottish Casa Felix Wedding
Kirsty and Jamie were such a special couple and a special couple calls for a very special wedding florist (and photographer). Today we are bringing you photos of K&J’s wedding by Marcos Sanchez and also a mini interview with one of our favourite wedding florists in Barcelona Yolanda of Best Day Ever. Hope you enjoy!
Who is Yolanda?
First, I’m a mom of a 5-year-old boy, Martin, and wife of best husband, Marcos Sanchez, for me (and it’s very real) the best wedding photographer in Barcelona. I have been a florist for 7 years and an Art Historian for 16 years. My world was destined to be a high school History and Geography teacher until flowers crossed my path and I became a wedding florist. Until then my working life was linked to the world of decoration and fashion.
What is your design process?
It’s very simple, I base it on the observation of nature and I try to integrate it into my floral designs wherever they are seen. I like them to be timeless and to show elegance and beauty.
What did you like most about designing this wedding?
Working with Kirsty. She trusted me completely, and it was really wonderful to work for her and do her design. The result was a design that was completely integrated with the venue and it was really spectacular.
How did you become a wedding florist and get started in the floral world?
Well, it all started through wedding photography. Marcos Sanchez, my husband, is a great photographer as I have already said? hehe. Through his photos and those of many other great photographers from all over the world, I was able to see floral creations that captivated and surprised me and inspired me to create what is now BDE.
Where do you usually find your inspiration?
My inspiration comes from nature, from the environment where the wedding will be held and where the flowers will be seen, and of course, from the couple.
What keeps you inspired to keep creating as a wedding florist?
Flowers, always, them. My work is also my wedding gift: a day full of beauty and the welcoming scent of fresh flowers.
