Vikki & John’s Casa Felix Wedding Interview with our Bride

These two lovebugs are capable of something most couples wouldn’t be, they work together! Vikki and John run award winning UK based Wedding Photo and Video agency Creative Wedding Agency. And it’s not hard to see how they live and work together so harmoniously; they were the sweetest, most easy going couple and we loved working with them for their Casa Felix wedding. Vikki looked completely stunning, yet understated and natural, and her look pretty much set the tone for the whole wedding: relaxed and fun.

The decor was full of lush greenery with candles and some custom details which we loved preparing. John proposed to Vikki under an Ibiza sunset so the beautiful sunset at Casa Felix had to be captured and the photographers did an amazing job of that I’m sure you’d agree! But don’t take my word for it, we had the pleasure of interviewing Vikki to get all the details about her Casa Felix wedding.

What was your favourite memory from your Casa Felix wedding?

There were so many, it was lovely to have a day before and day after the wedding with all our guests to just enjoy the place and enjoy all being together in gorgeous sunny Barca. It was very much an experience which felt like a once in a lifetime event that we were all so happy to be at. I loved watching my friends sat around the pool chatting with the sun setting behind them and the smell of the delicious bbq being prepared for us. I loved us all being together on holiday and not feeling like the day was over in a heartbeat. We had time to unwind relax and enjoy our guests company.

Why did you chose Barcelona and Casa Felix as you wedding destination?

We love Barcelona we lived there for just 12 months. But during this time we found the most amazing venue and knew this is where we wanted to get married. We are in the wedding industry ourselves photographer and videographer so it was crucial for us to have a wedding that was different to the norm which we capture week in week out.

What did you love most about your wedding dress? How and where did you find it?

I loved how my dress fitted and it felt like something I would wear, right for me. I wanted to be able to dance and have a great time. The dress is important of course, but if you can’t enjoy your day because your dress is to restrictive or too hot, not practical etc. Then it can really affect your whole day. We work with brides all the time who perhaps choose a dress too big, too difficult to walk around in and it does start to annoy them throughout the day. I chose something comfortable, light weight which would travel well. Strongly recommend taking a steamer with you to steam out any creases.

My dress was from @lovebridalcheshire the team there are SO lovely and I couldn’t recommend them enough.

If you did it all again what might you change?

I think it’s important to ensure you have your figures in order and costings is pre-agreed with all parties. I would ensure all suppliers agree to final costings at least a month before your date.

Tell us about the blooms. What was your favourite thing about your wedding flowers?

I really loved my flowers. Rebecca took inspiration from my bridesmaids dresses and the images I had sent her and created something lovely. I liked how they were quite wild yet feminine. The florals in the Casa Felix ceremony area was lovely, really in keeping with the surroundings and just brought everything together. Flowers were not so important to me on the day as the venue we chose has the most beautiful floral gardens so the place itself needed very little decor.

What is your advice for other couples getting married in Barcelona?

I strongly recommend having a planner. Even though me and my husband knew the area well, speak a little Spanish, knew flights and transport for guests etc. It still made a huge difference having Rebecca plan our wedding she was so valuable. She helped us actually save money in the end as we presumed going directly to caterers and suppliers would be less costly. However it was the opposite. She recommended suppliers local to the area, authentic and genuine people who made the day such a success. Due to her knowing so many great suppliers it made the process easy for us.

What cultural aspects did you include in your big day?

Rebecca from Barcelona Brides sourced two incredible musicians  and a dancer for us to perform just after our meal. The guests loved this experience the flamenco was authentic, raw and passionate. Perfectly fitted into the surroundings. It was wonderful watching everyone clapping and some up dancing. It worked so well. The caterers did an incredible job of fusing Spanish cuisine and wines into our menu it was delicious. The venue itself was traditionally Spanish so the whole experience for us felt very much like an authentic Spanish experience. I have been coming to Spain as a little girl for so many years and have such fond memories of watching Flamenco with my father eating Paella and although he was not there on my wedding day there was moments when I knew he was and he would have loved everything about our wedding day.

Vikki and John’s Casa Felix Wedding

We were living in Barcelona when we decided we wanted to get married there. We booked our venue and were about half way with our plans when circumstances changed and we moved back to the UK. We were struggling to find catering options and really wanted someone to be there on the day to just ensure things went smoothly. I found Rebecca through recommendations on Facebook. After and initial enquiry she sent across a personalised plan based on my answers to a questionnaire. The details was really good and I instantly felt reassured that she cared and was genuinely pleased to help.
Rebecca was straight to work finding catering options she came with us to tastings in Barcelona, drove us to our venue and organised a makeup trial. We had such a great weekend with Rebecca, it felt like having a weekend away with your friend. She is so lovely and kind, funny and genuine and I feel like we have become friends more than a planner/bride relationship.
Myself and now husband have worked in the wedding industry for a long time now, attending hundreds of weddings and we feel so happy and satisfied that our wedding was everything we wanted and more. Our guests have told us they had the best weekend of there lives and that it was the best wedding they have ever been too. We feel so thrilled to hear that from them.
Rebecca had so many ideas and lovely touches that all went to plan, she was always there easily contactable and recommended some amazing suppliers to work with. I am so grateful to her and her team. Thank you so much lovely. I know we will stay in touch xxx
