C&T Serra Hotel Rooftop Wedding: Interview with the Bride

What could be better than a rooftop wedding? Charlotte and Thomas and their baby boy George were a joy to work with and we’re so happy to bring you their interview below. We hope you love the photos as much as we did. If you’d like to talk about you rooftop wedding contact us here.

Describe your Barcelona wedding day in 3 words!

So much fun

What was your favourite memory from your Barcelona wedding?

One of my favourite memories is definitely seeing everyone’s reactions to our Church and venue, on photos you can see all our guests taking photos at the doors of the church as soon as they came in, and when we arrived at the Serras everyone was commenting on how gorgeous it was. As our wedding was postponed twice due to COVID I think all our guests were so much more excited and thanks to our DJ & Sax people didn’t stop dancing all night.

Why did you chose Barcelona as you wedding destination?

Barcelona is just my favourite place in the world ! When me and my husband first came to Barcelona together in 2014, I said ‘I HAVE to get married here’ I just love the whole vibe of the city.

What did you love most about your wedding dress? How and where did you find it?

I had my wedding dress made by an incredible dress maker in Manchester, Emma Beaumont, I started looking for a dress in summer 2019 and had an idea in mind, I struggled to find exactly what I was looking for and really didn’t enjoy dress shopping at all. Until I found Emma on Instagram, and she knew exactly what my vision was and I love that I could help create every last detail of the dress, choosing from the hundreds of fabrics she had, the placing of the different laces and the length of the sleeves.
It was important to me to have a traditional dress but for it still to be modern. And of course I needed a huge train and veil to go with the church !

If you did it all again what might you change?

I would relax a lot more in the lead up to the wedding, I was driving myself mad thinking about the smallest things, like ‘what will the napkins be like?!’ A few weeks before the wedding I realised I was being ridiculous and instantly started to become more excited for the day.

Tell us about the blooms. What was your favourite thing about your wedding flowers?

I knew I wanted all white flowers with greenery, I had a few images I shared with Molist, from their Instagram I trusted their style and they were even better than I could have imagined ! I loved that there was orchids and peony’s included in my bouquet as they are my favourite flowers. The bridesmaid bouquets of 6 long stemmed white roses were so simply but so effected. I only wish I could have kept them forever !

What is your advice for other couples getting married in Barcelona?

My number 1 advice is must hire the Barcelona Brides team ! And think about the style of wedding you want when you view the venues, we knew we wanted a very laid back wedding and a more ‘cocktail’ style some venues we viewed, as gorgeous as they were, would not have suited this type of wedding.

What cultural aspects did you include in your big day?

I was raised as a Catholic so always knew I would get married in a Church, when I came to Barcelona years ago we went inside Santa Maria del Mar and I was amazed how gorgeous it was.
When I arrived at the church our Nephew and Page Boy gave me a traditional Good Luck Horse Shoe which I carried with my bouquet.

The non-traditional thing we did was have our 5 month old baby boy with us, but we wouldn’t have it any other way !

And thank you so much for the review below:

I cannot speak more highly of Rebecca, Claudia & Maily.

We originally met with Rebecca in March of 2018 and booked our wedding for May 2020, which was cancelled twice due to COVID. Each time we had to rearrange the team made it totally stress free and easy by communicating with all our suppliers and securing our new dates for us.

The planning of the wedding was a joy thanks to how organised they are, the list of suppliers they have contacts with means there is something for everyone, I actually miss planning my wedding!

I met with Claudia a few days before the wedding for a run through and I was blown away by how organised she is ! She really had thought of every last detail, and as a self confessed ‘control freak’ this made me so so relaxed.

The day of the wedding went smoothly, all thanks to the BB team. We unfortunately had the ‘worst rain Barcelona has had in 10 years’ on the day of our roof top wedding, meaning the roof started leaking very badly in the venue. Maily and Claudia took over quickly and efficiently, they even organised the venue staff telling them how to make this situation better. I truly believe if it wasn’t for them our wedding would have gone down hill from there ! They were with me right until the end of the evening packing away our belongings, they made sure nothing was left unattended, even serving our guests behind the bar at one point! All our guests made comments on how great they were.
BB was the best money I spent on my wedding and I can’t recommend them more.

If you are considering getting married in Barcelona, this is the best team to work with. They are organised, reliable, detail orientated and not to mention so friendly and lovely women !
