Mexican Theme Barcelona Wedding: Interview with our Bride
Sophie and Al’s vision was 100% original and they were the most fun couple from start to finish. They both had Mexican heritage so it was important we incorporated that into their decoration to create a Mexican Theme wedding. With stunning views over Barcelona, Gran Hotel La Florida was ideal for this intimate and emotion filled gathering. The ceremony alone managed to bring not one but two Barcelona Brides team members to tears.
Sophie describe your Barcelona wedding day in 3 words!
Magical, Perfection, Delightful Groom’s Response: Chill As F***
What was your favourite memory from your Barcelona wedding?
The view and being around so many friends and family. It was just more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. Truly the best day of our lives.
Why did you chose Barcelona as you wedding destination?
We traveled a year ago on vacation and just fell in love. The atmosphere and culture and feel of the city resonated with us.
We were just about to start the planning process and jokingly said, What if we get married in Barcelona? After talking to our family and close friends, we decided to do it.
Contacting Rebecca and going through the process was beyond easy. A true professional. She understood my vision and what I wanted without me even saying it.
What did you love most about your wedding dress? How and where did you find it?
I loved the skirt and how fun it was. The train details with beading and butterflies. I found it at a consignment shop here in San Antonio. It was fitted perfectly and I didn’t even need any alterations. I wish I could wear it every day. One day in it is just not enough.
If you did it all again what might you change?
I don’t think I would change anything per se, but I would try to take it in a lot more. It truly does go by so fast and it was the best day of our lives.
Tell us about the blooms. What was your favourite thing about your wedding flowers?
Oh the floral was beautiful!! Between the bouquet and the floral for the ceremony, it was divine and more than I thought possible. All the colors and different flowers. And not a single rose in sight!!
What is your advice for other couples getting married in Barcelona?
DO IT!!! You won’t regret it. Remember, the day is about you and your partner. It’s something you will either remember or regret the rest of your life. Make it count.
What cultural aspects did you include in your big day?
My husband and I are both Mexican Americans with deep ties to Mexico. We wanted a ceremony that was bright and fun like the colors of a serape. Between the decorations, the arch, the accents, and the floral, the feeling was there.
