L&S Pals church wedding: Interview with the bride

We loved working with Laura and Shane from Ireland, their Pals wedding was full of great food, music and company! Stunning photos by Robin Ramos.

Describe your Pals wedding day in 3 words!

Magical, memorable and perfect 

What was your favourite memory from your Pals wedding?

Walking into the dinner in the beautiful set up under the fair lights and tent with la bamba playing and everyone up singing and dancing. 

Why did you chose Pals as you wedding destination?

We chose Palafrugell just outside Barcelona as it was near beautiful authentic coastal towns. We wanted our friends and family to have a holiday to remember as well and also wanted to get away from rainy Ireland! 

What did you love most about your wedding dress? How and where did you find it?

I found my wedding dress, which was a two piece skirt and top, in Jesus Peiro flagship store in Barcelona. I liked that it was a Spanish brand and thought it suited the venue and the vibe we were going for. I wanted something comfortable, relaxed, floaty and easy to wear and it ticked all those boxes. They also made me a veil to match, which I loved. 

If you did it all again what might you change about your Pals wedding?

Nothing – I just wish it didn’t have to end so maybe would have had it go on all night!!

Tell us about the blooms. What was your favourite thing about your wedding flowers?

I adored my wedding flowers. Rebecca recommended Phlox and I am so glad she did. I gave so little direction bar sending a few pictures of what I had in mind and they got it even more right than I could ever have imagined myself. They were perfect and even nicer than what I had dreamt of! The bouquets were so delicate and beautifully put together and I loved the colours. I adored the decoration and the pampas grass and the table settings were just out of this world gorgeous. 

What is your advice for other couples getting married in Barcelona?

Book Barcelona brides as your wedding planner. It was the best decision we made in the whole wedding and our wedding was so magical because of them and their hard work and creative influence. They were there from start to finish at 3.30am and I was able to enjoy the day knowing they had everything under control. They are absolutely amazing at what they do and I can’t recommend them enough. 

What cultural aspects did you include in your big day?

We had a catholic ceremony on the absolutely stunning church in Pals. Then we were able to get our photos taken in the medieval village of Pals which is just beautiful. 

We tried to also incorporate some Spanish influences with the food (paella bar) and music and all our Irish guests loved this.

Barcelona brides are incredible. Booking them was the best decision we made in our whole wedding. From helping us find our gorgeous venue nearly two years ago, to recommending every amazing supplier, to allowing us ship multiple packages with parasols and flip flops etc to them, to countless telephone calls and a million emails, to being there until 3.30am on the night making sure everyone was on the last bus home – our wedding was incredible because of them and we were able to enjoy it because they had everything under control (and it’s not easy for me to give over control!). Rebecca, Maily and Claudia are the dream team. They are on top of everything and are so good at what they do. Not only that but they are all so nice and a pleasure to work with and have with you on your wedding day. I can’t recommend them enough. We are so grateful to them for everything they did for us and for making our wedding day so special.
