E&D La Baronia Wedding: Interview

Emily and Dan had the best day despite the crazy weather and we LOVED working with them on their gorgeous pink Baronia wedding.

Describe your la Baronia wedding day in 3 words!

Magical, exciting, unforgettable

What was your favourite memory from your la Baronia wedding?

There are so so many but when I approached the aisle, arm in arm with my dad and saw my husband standing with his groomsmen, and my uncle playing the piano, it was a real “pinch me” moment.

My husband and I had a little impromptu photoshoot in the rain too which although definitely wasn’t part of the plan, is a memory i’ll cherish. Shout out to Ivan and Jose&Sany of JM Blanes – the best photographer and videographers we could have wanted!

Why did you chose Barcelona as you wedding destination?

As soon as we got engaged we both knew we would get married in Barcelona. We lived there together for 4 years and made the most amazing memories, it really is such a special city.

What did you love most about your wedding dress? How and where did you find it?

I knew i wanted quite a low-key dress, as it was going to have to fit in my suitcase and it was going to be too hot for layers or anything too pouffy. I found my dress on ASOS, and redesigned it with a seamstress who altered it to exactly how i wanted it. I loved the open back feature and how comfortable i felt in it. I also had a more casual dress for the party which i had altered and loved!

If you did it all again what might you change?

I have a few small regrets from the day but nothing major, all of my guests had the best time and so did me and my husband. The day was filled with love and tears and I felt like I was able to really enjoy it and be present.

Tell us about the blooms. What was your favourite thing about your wedding flowers?

I went for a vibrant colour scheme so knew that my bouquet would need to match. I also knew i wanted to throw my bouquet from the balcony and then keep it forever, so fresh flowers were never going to work. I bought a lot of dried flowers and made up my bouquets with my sister a few days before, it made it all the more special. My bouquet is now in a vase in my house where it will stay forever! I had so many compliments on the florals of the ceremony/venue done by Barcelona Brides, everybody loved the simplicity of the pink babies breath and how well they matched my gorgeous bridesmaids.

What is your advice for other couples getting married in Barcelona?

Don’t listen to that horrible inner voice that is telling you everything is going to go wrong!

Don’t stress about the weather there is literally nothing you can do about it.

Use the few days leading up to the wedding to see all of your guests so you don’t need to do that on the day. So worth having people stay in the same hotel/having a pre wedding party for this reason.

If you have a planner, you can afford to relax and really enjoy yourself – do it!

What cultural aspects did you include in your big day?

We combined a few English and Spanish/Catalan traditions on the day which our guests really enjoyed. The porron was a huge hit and really got the party started, many of our guests has never seen it before and it was a really fun addition!

Client Review

Barcelona Brides helped us to have the most magical wedding day at La Baronia. We we’re supported from the very start and guided through until the end, it made planning a wedding a simple/stress free experience. Becky and Claudia had a solution to all of my strange requests and helped us to make decisions that worked best for us. Countless emails/zooms and messages before the wedding meant that we could relax as we approached the big day and then when the big day arrived, Claudia took care of everything, even with last minute changes. Me and my husband were both completely relaxed and able to enjoy the day! We will always be grateful to the girls for our Barcelona wedding ❤️
