Dagny & Thor’s Fairytale Vineyard Wedding: Interview with our Bride

This fairytale destination vineyard wedding in Barcelona was one of the most fun filled of 2019. We loved it so much that we got our dream bride (all the way from Iceland) Dagny to stop by and tell us all about it. Thank you so much Dagny we LOVED working with you.

Dagny what was your favourite memory from your wedding?

It’s almost impossible to choose one favourite moment but the moment when we entered the banquet and everyone was swinging their napkins when singing along to the song we had playing as well as the moment we told our friends and family to join us on the dance floor once we’d finished our part of the first dance and absolutely everyone joined immediately. Hence, those were two of our favourites!

Why did you chose Spain as you wedding destination?

We were living in Spain and therefore, decided to plan our wedding there! It gave both us and our guests the opportunity to try something different that we could never have experienced at home.

Tell us a little about your wedding dress? What did you love most about it?

I wasn’t looking for the “perfect” wedding dress to begin with, I just wanted to find a dress that I felt suited both me and the venue. It ended up being absolutely perfect, with a flowing skirt, a beautiful lace top and back and I received so much praise for it!

What can you tell us about your wedding flowers?

We were outdoors by a vineyard. That’s why, I didn’t feel we needed a lot of decorations. We used flowers to add some light colours to the wedding.

How was the planning process?

The planning process was stressful at times. It was due to us being in a long distance relationship and having to use the time well when he was with me in Barcelona. Because we were well organized everything went smoothly in the end. It helped a lot to have Rebecca with us in the process and saved us precious time!

What cultural aspects did you include in your big day?

As a matter of fact, we tried to mix in some Spanish culture with our Icelandic style wedding by having an aperitive with Spanish tapas, a flamenco guitar player and the napkin swinging when the couple enters the banquet. We were super happy with the outcome. We think the guests really felt they were in Spain also!

What inspired your wedding vision?

I’m not sure I had much of a wedding vision. I just wanted it to be outdoors in a beautiful venue where everyone was having non stop fun!

What is your advice for other couples?

Don’t try to make everything perfect, follow your gut and try to make your lives easier rather than overly complicated!
